Welcome

Welcome! I’m happy you’re here.

My name is Terri Apgar. I am a wife, mother of three, sister, daughter, friend, and teacher.  More importantly, I am an imperfect being seeking to walk by faith and honor God during my time on this planet.  I am grateful for grace, family, laughter, a purpose beyond this moment, and an endless array of daily blessings.

Why am I blogging? People are bent a certain way.  I am bent with words. Any of you who have met me, worked with me, fellowshipped with me, or have lived with me know this is true. Sometimes I am leaning-over-heavy bent with words. They swirl rapid-fire through my mind from my heart. Sometimes they drift through like milkweed seeds and briefly settle,  only to be blown away by the stirring winds of life. I use words to wrestle with my will, to shape my understandings,  to define my thoughts, to discover, to wonder, to express what my heart feels. Most often I use words, in my heart and on the page, to draw closer to the One who made me.

I believe we were created with intent. We are at our best as humans when we use how we are bent to help each other to be all that we are intended to be. So here I am, tentatively sharing my words. It is my hope that you will be encouraged, comforted, and strengthened, and that my public wrestling of will and soul will be a tool in God’s hand to carve out His purposes for us both.

I beg you to remember, however, that I am an earthen vessel–blemished and uneven, just a common, every day tool .  1 Corinthians 4:7

Please join me on the journey as we laugh, cry, wrestle with ourselves and wrap each other in God’s tender mercy.

 Terri

P.S. And here, just found, says it all better…
